• A Trichologist can diagnose and treat hair loss on the strand and surface scalp levels. This means that a Trichologist will be able to treat aging damage that’s causing thinning or breakage on the hair strand and can treat aging damage on the mouth of the hair follicles that is causing hair loss or balding. A dermatologist can diagnose and treat scalp disorders and perform tests that may determine the condition of the internal follicle area.

• Dermatologists can prescribe medication as necessary to treat scalp disorders.
